Seraphina’s Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) medical animal rescue located in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, based out of Hampton County. We primarily serve felines in 2026, but Beatriz our Director has a soft spot for small dogs & neonatal puppies that we may occasionally pull, and we hope to someday grow to be able to help whoever needs us, regardless of species or size.
We also exist to assist local animal shelters with Hampton County Animal Shelter being our priority & home base.

How Did We Start?
Our Director Beatriz has been a foster with HCAS since 2021 and dedicated time to volunteering, doing TNR, and doing independent rescue since 2022 with hopes and dreams of starting a 501(c)(3) with an attempt even thrown in the mix back in 2024.
However, in December of 2025, two Sphynx kittens were surrendered to Beatriz’s care. The brother, Duke, died quickly due to the medical neglect they had been subjected to prior to surrender, but the female, Seraphina, fought for over a month before finally succumbing to complications resulting from said prior medical neglect, and her enucleation (eye removal) that was the outcome.

While Beatriz had other medical cases pushing her heart towards an official medical rescue, Seraphina was ultimately the soul cat that solidified the direction. So Seraphina’s Sanctuary came to fruition.
Our Mission
Seraphina’s Sanctuary aims to provide compassionate care for animals with medical and behavioral needs through rehabilitation, responsible placement, and community education and support. With providing medical care, foster, targeted outreach, community programs, and educational initiatives, we aim to reduce shelter intake, promote spaying and neutering, and improve the quality of life for both animals and their owners.
Our Vision
Our vision is a future where no animal suffers from intentional nor unintentional medical neglect, where every ailment is investigated and treated to the fullest capability, and cultivating homes and communities where people and pets thrive together through compassion, education, and community support—a future where preventable suffering is eliminated, shelter intake is reduced, and every animal has access to responsible care and a loving home.
